Head Coach - Jake Gregerson

Coach Jake is originally from Granite City, Illinois, where he began wrestling at the age of seven. At eleven, he joined Sons of Thunder under the coaching of Jeff Estrada. During his youth career, he won three state titles and five national titles between Tulsa Nationals and USA Nationals. His team also captured back-to-back Illinois State titles before he entered high school.

As a freshman, he moved to Chicago to wrestle for Montini Catholic, where the team was ranked 11th nationally and secured an Illinois team state title. He finished as the individual state runner-up that year. He later returned to Southern Illinois, wrestling one year for Althoff Catholic High School before finishing his junior and senior years at Granite City High School. He concluded his high school career as a Freestyle and Greco-Roman State Champion and ranked fourth nationally in Greco-Roman wrestling. Throughout his career, he had the opportunity to work with some of the top programs and coaches in the country.

His coaching career began at the age of 21 in Granite City. Soon after, he moved to Colorado to coach alongside Jeff Estrada at Sons of Thunder in Castle Rock. There, they operated a wrestling school ranked number one in the country, producing numerous World Team members, Pan-American champions, Fargo national champions, All-Americans, and individual state champions. While in Colorado, he also served on the Fargo National coaching staff and the Schoolboy National Dual Team staff.

After four years in Colorado, he moved to California, working with several of the top programs in Sacramento, Los Angeles, and Central California. He later returned to Granite City to lead the Lions Den Wrestling Academy for four years, providing opportunities for many children who might not otherwise have been able to afford to wrestle. During this time, he was honored with a spot on the Illinois Fargo National Team coaching staff.

In 2023, he relocated to Florida and began working with leading high school wrestling programs in Southwest Florida. Since moving, he has joined the Florida Fargo National Team coaching staff and was recently appointed as Junior Dual Team Director for the state. He also founded Sons of Thunder and Daughters of Zion Naples, his own wrestling program based in Naples, Florida.
